COVID - 19 Update- we're meeting again!

Meetings

With easing of restrictions we will be meeting again face to face on Sundays at 9:30am! We want to keep everyone COVID-safe so please make sure to arrive a little early so we can follow the guidelines and prepare for a great time together.

A message from Pastor Lloyd

Hi everyone, it’s been wonderful to meet with you in the past few weeks here at the church. We will continue to meet and follow the relevant guidelines published by the Queensland government to keep us all COVID Safe. Here’s some information about what has been happening this week.

New cases of COVID19 in Brisbane this week

As you know there have been a number of new cases on the south side of Brisbane this week and many of the suburbs we live in a now considered restricted areas which means there may be a higher risk of infection. The only new restriction in place at the moment is around access to aged care facilities.

You can look at the list of suburbs and read information about restrictions at this link:

https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/current-status/aged-care-restrictions-list-of-suburbs

There has also been a public health alert issued on Friday 31st of July listing areas where a person with a confirmed Covid 19 infection travelled in the last few days.

Staying safe at church and home

We are following the requirements of the relevant industry plan which is considered best practice for keeping people safe at church. As part of the plan everyone coming to a church meeting is asked to sign the contact register and you will be confirming that the following statements are true for you -

·      You do not have any symptoms associated with COVID-19 (e.g. fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, sneezing/runny nose or loss of sense of smell)

·      You do not have COVID-19 nor are you awaiting the results from being tested for COVID-19

·      You have not been in contact with any known or suspected cases of COVID-19 in the past 14 days

·      You have not returned, or been in contact with anyone else who has returned, from overseas or a declared COVID-19 hotspot within Australia in the past 14 days (e.g. Melbourne)

Remember to follow the government guidelines to protect yourself and others - https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/protect-yourself-others/coronavirus-prevention

More Information

You can find more information at the Queensland government website: https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19.

The government also has resources translated into languages other than English at the following link:

Meeting together this week

We will be meeting this week at 9:30 AM at the Rock Church. The main auditorium has been set up with plenty of space for us to spread out (more space than the industry plan requires).  We have a video link to the downstairs hall for anyone with mobility impairment or those who would like even more space.

You can also join us on Zoom and a link will be posted on the front page of our website on Sunday morning.

National Day of prayer and fasting

This Sunday the Australian Christian Churches will join other denominations around the country for a national day of prayer and fasting.  We will be praying for the COVID-19 sutuation to improve locally, nationally and globally.

I look forward to seeing you in person or online and may the Lord bless you and your loved ones,

Pastor Lloyd
